Plotline Letterboxes Wanted

From: dagonell2001 (salley@klaatu.canisius.edu) | Date: 2005-03-13 15:00:04 UTC

My father is hospitalized (nothing truly serious, he has an infected
leg injury that's refusing to heal properly). He's bored out of his
mind. He likes to read the letterboxing clues and imagine himself on
the trail of the letterboxes. I'm looking for letterbox clues that
have a 'plotline' to them. So far, I've found "That Darn Cat" and
"The Gamber Series" both in Central NY. It doesn't matter where the
boxes are actually located, I just need the storyline. If you know of
such a box, PLEASE send me the info. You'll be helping to relieve my
father's boredom. Thank you.

Dumbledore's Western Adventure in South Central Oregon has a plot
and will require some searching through other letterboxers clues to
figure out how to solve the code, and Roy Rogers Cougar hunt in area
5, California has a plot but the punch line is in the last box.

All the the "Whose Shoes?" series in Michigan are great stories...I especially like the Western version.

Has he tried any of the virtual letterboxes? They are done entirely
online and in your head, no walking needed. You can access a number
of them through Atlas Quest.

Hi, Dagonell--

I've just started a new virtual site..Letterbug's Great WDW Treasure Hunt. I've only got 7 stamps so far, but am adding about 1 per day until I get them all done. You have to sleuth out answers to Disney attraction trivia in order to find the stamp. Each attraction will have a stamp. If your dad likes Disney stuff and trivia, it might be a diversion for a little while. I've only got the first 7 stamps for the Magic Kingdom so far. You can find them at http://www.letterbug.orgfree.com.

Sorry, didn't mean this to be a shameless plug, but thought I'd just suggest it. I love working on other's virtual boxes when the weather is too bad or I don't feel good enough to go out.

You can also try the links section of the Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/virtual_letterboxing.

Hiya Dagonell,

There are a few that Red's Bunch has planted that may apply (I hope
it's not too tacky to pitch my own letterboxes). They're all listed
on AtlasQuest and LbNA.

-Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption is all story, no "direct"
directions. The word "letterbox" doesn't even appear in the text.
-Panther Creek Falls includes directions, of a sort. Provided as
clues to a jewel heist investigation.
-Restless Dreams is a mystery series that has a narrative that leads
to a puzzle. He may enjoy trying to solve the puzzle.

Hope he's feeling better soon!
-Red

Did you check out my Blade Runner series in Westerly, RI?

It's a 7 box series that has a prologue, clues, and epilogue that
mirrors the film Blade Runner with Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer.

Secret of the Knob in Woods Hole MA is a long story. It may not be on the new LBNA site, but it would definitely be on the old: http://lbna.dyndns.org/

Music Woman!

You saved my life!

I've been searching for the URL for the old site *forever*. Now I
have it, thanks to you!

Now that I'm out of the closet, can someone give me the URL for "The
Basement"?

Aha! Just thought of another one. It'll keep him busy if nothing
else.

Pete Miner's "Dancing Men" mystery.

Once your father figures out the source document to solve the cipher,
